What is a competency job profile?  

A Competency Job Profile (CJP) is a list of the competencies needed to do a job. The FIELD Competency Job Profiles have been written using Units of Competency.

Following extensive consultation with Community Service Organisations (CSO’s) in Victoria FIELD has developed a List of Competency Job Profiles using the Units of Competency contained in the Community Services Training Package and other relevant Training Packages. The main jobs in the Disability CSO sector are included in this group of 26 CJPs. However, you can customise any of the FIELD Competency Job Profiles to suit your organisation’s environment and circumstances.

Each Competency Job Profile includes a suggested set of Units of Competency needed to perform the role. Each Competency Job Profile includes a Job Title, and recommended Units of Competency that are defined by the:

  • Code,
  • Descriptive Titles, and
  • Elements.
