Examples of evidence
The following is a list of examples of evidence that you might keep in your competency evidence portfolio:
- Worksheets from Ready4work Induction training
- Statements of attainment from formal study
- Statements of attendance from training sessions
- First Aid certificate/s
- Position descriptions from previous jobs
- A copy of your resume
- Any relevant awards you might have won
- Any workplace magazine or newspaper clippings involving you or programs you have been involved in
- Written references from workplace supervisors, particularly when they outline the duties you perform and/or competencies you demonstrate
- Observations or reports by your supervisor or other staff
- Photographs of you involved in work activities or documenting events that you have organised
- Examples of program development that you have been involved in
- Examples of workplace policy development that you have been involved in
- Self assessments
This list does not include all the types of evidence that exist. You can add to your Competency Evidence Portfolio any other relevant records that you can think of. A really good evidence portfolio would contain evidence gathered from over a period of time, from different sources, and where possible, organized to show which elements of which units of competency the records show evidence for. An index would assist with this.
